About Hogwarts: Old School
 Some might consider us old-fashioned, but we want to return to when roleplay and community sites were fun and low stress. You are welcome to join just to be a part of the community, and not participate in the roleplay. There is no posting limits on this site, either by word counts, or activity checks, or what have you. Applications to roleplay are not required. Our goal is to not take everything so seriously that nobody enjoys roleplaying anymore! Some of our special features include a subaccount mod that allows you to make immediate alts and post to them from any account, dice-based OOC and IC Quidditch, custom BBCode-enabled profiles, a shop, unique graphic prizes, the ability to use both usernames and character names (at the same time!), custom house points, player graphic shops, member jobs to earn shop Galleons, and much more! - Arthur is an all-around big guy, almost to the point that he's been asked if he has some small amount of giant blood in him. He's been standing at 6'4" since he turned 12. Around the same time he grew into the huge 240 pound guy he is now, Arthur was also developing powers that he couldn't even begin to explain which added to his outwardly awkward gait for much of his early teenager years. For the most part he's grown into his features but he still looks far from model-perfect. 240 pounds may make it sound like Arthur has some amount of muscle mass, but once he takes off his shirt--which he does often because he gets hot easily--it's pretty much all just flab. Really Arthur has the body of a huge 12 year old boy, it doesn't make sense and for some crazy reason has pretty much kept every single girl he's ever met from swooning at a turn of his heel. Unfortunately for Arthur the world isn't fair and his aversion to general movement and his aptitude to probably the, arguably, two most girly subjects has kept Arthur a virgin.
Like the rest of his body, Arthur's hair is it's own entity. Long and slightly wavy, Arthur has a noticeable and often silly poof to his hair that, unless managed, makes him look like he's trying to look like Bill Nye the Science Guy at all times. It really isn't that Arthur isn't able to fix his hair, it's really that he doesn't care to. That sort of careless attitude really is at the forefront of Arthur's style and personality really. The only thing he's ever actually went out of his way to regularly maintain is his facial hair which, for better or worse, has always mildly made him look like he's a 25 year old, lazy weirdo in a school for kids. Although Arthur doesn't have a particularly old looking face he's always been mistaken for being much older than his is mostly because his frame is just so heavy-set. From afar it looks like Arthur could just about take out any person who crossed his path, however Arthur wouldn't get anywhere in a fistfight or a duel for that matter. His eyes are probably his best feature, unlike the rest of his being that looks kind of old and borderline creepy, his eyes look startlingly young. They're a deep brown that look like they were taken out of a puppy's face and placed weirdly on Arthur's.
Clothing Style: When Arthur isn't in uniform he's usually just wearing jeans and some ratty old t shirt that may or may not be questionably dirty.

- Arthur's history was actually very pleasant up until he discovered that he was a wizard. It was only when he was entering the wizarding world as a muggle born that his life became more complicated, confusing, and once, put his family in danger which forced them to move to Britain in the first place--closer to the protection of the Ministry of Magic.
Originally Arthur lived on the outskirts of Northern California, his family only owned about half an acre of land but he had several neighbors who had several acre plots that were filled with all kinds of animals. Naturally he lived in a small, rural community called Rescue where his father's small business, as a veterinarian boomed. Before Arthur was born, Frank had become something of a legend among the locals because he was often able to cure animals of things that were simply unimaginable. His greatest feat was somehow fixing a horse's broken leg, it could probably be argued that Frank had some amount of magic in him passed down from his great grandfather who actually was a wizard--a family secret that not even Frank ever found out. Frank met Christine when she applied for a job, although she had a talent for working with animals like Frank did she was very clumsy and kind of useless when it came to most of the actual medical work that went with working with animals. Christine was always easily queasy and didn't always handle stressful situation well, but Frank hired her and they became a pretty good team simply because she would be given the task of just looking after the animal and not doing any of the hard work. Eventually their relationship cultivated and as Christine got better at her job, they also became much more close which finally led to Arthur and his two younger siblings being born.
Arthur grew up being his father's son, he loved pretty much every animal except maybe cats, and even then there were exceptions that grew on him. Like his father, Arthur seemed to have a kind of touch that calmed down animals but he didn't have the same kind of healing touch his father had. Arthur had more of a calming kind of aura like his mother. At first this didn't seem like any kind of power manifesting but over time his feats became simply too amazing to ignore. What made people particularly wonder if something were going on differently with Arthur was when he was able to find a horse that had been neglected by its previous owner and needed immediate medical treatment, then instantly tame the furious, starved horse simply by touching the animal. In most cases it would have been amazing for someone to even touch the horse at all, but the fact that the horse calmed instantly to the touch of a nine year old boy stunned his father. Shortly after this incident Arthur was given a letter to a magical school in Canada. It was an easy decision, Arthur left his family and for many years nothing really happened.
When Arthur turned fourteen, during Christmas break, however, he would nearly be killed when dementors that were let out by a group of reformed deatheaters, found him and his mother while they were both alone on a dark street between bus stops. Arthur was unable to perform a patronus, the only reason he was saved was because the dementor wasn't really looking for Arthur in particular and had probably another objective that it needed to fulfill. Arthur and his mother were able to escape but only by pure dumb luck, but this incident left Arthur scarred. Arthur's family was put into hiding and moved to Britain where Arthur was then transferred to Hogwarts, mostly because he wanted to desperately improve his patronus.

- Personality:
- Arthur could be described as being just a big soft marshmallow. He might look kind of intimidating, particularly since it isn't entirely clear that he has no actual muscle mass at all, but it doesn't take long after first meeting the guy that he isn't a bad person. Really if he were judged just on his personality Arthur would be sorted into a Hufflepuff without a second thought to it, and perhaps even now he belongs more in Hufflepuff than anything else. Arthur is something of a doormat, a lover really who will go out of his way to avoid a fight but that doesn't mean he'll let just anything go. Once he's pushed beyond his boundaries Arthur can be stubborn and often will just act like a jerk simply because he's able to.
For the most part, however, Arthur doesn't get angry. It's easier for him to just let people get what they want from him and he knows he's being used for the most part but he doesn't really do anything about it. Particularly with girls, most of the girls he's met at his old school have done everything to avoid him or give him some hope just so they could get some free stuff. The worst part is that Arthur is somewhat still excitable (in more than one way if you catch my drift) over some of the most subtle provocations making it all too easy for just about any relatively attractive girl to waltz up to him and ask for something in a cute voice and just watch him melt in their hands. Needless to say, women are usually what actually kills Arthur and is the source of most of his frustration while at school.
Thankfully, his awful luck with girls has never really affected his relationship with animals. Magical creatures are something of Arthur's forte, particularly Hippogriffs. It's really only a coincidence that his wand also has Hippogriff Claw as one of its cores, but Arthur always felt it was a sign. Like back at home, although Arthur isn't particularly talented at magic and for the most part can't really learn new spells easily at all, he's always had a certain connection to animals. It's rather cute to watch Arthur nerd-out about the magical creatures he's read about and plans on meeting and spending time with when he graduates.
